A school meal costs £2.25 per day (£11.25 per week). The children have a choice of 2 different hot meals/jacket potatoes/paninis/wraps/sandwiches and a choice of 2 desserts.
The school needs to ask all parents for information regarding their free school meal entitlement. It is very important that this information is correct as the provision of school meals is affected by these figures and you may also be losing out on your entitlement. If someone has a nut allergy it is not just eating nuts that can cause a severe reaction, just being touched on the skin or smelling the breath of someone who has had nuts or a product containing nuts can trigger anaphylactic shock (which can cause breathing and swallowing difficulties).
First aid staff in the school are trained to use Epi-pens (an injection of adrenalin) which is required immediately if this happens.
